Congress of the European Society of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists

The #ESAIC Congress 2026 has just concluded in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The mottos: Leadership, Connection, and Vision have settled there, thoroughly rooted.

The most organised, the most active sessions and meetings, thousands of visitors, and an exceptional industrial exhibition have been seen at the Ahoy Congress Center in Rotterdam.

At the European Congress of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care,
Malta has 11 anaesthesiologists and intensivists who participated in various opportunities as speakers, including Dr. Anne Marie Camilleri Podestà, Dr.Petramay Attard Cortis, and Prof. Stephen Sciberras.

Representatives of the #AAIM’s stand at the National village of #NASC were Dr.Andrew Attard Montalto, Dr.Ryan Attard, and Dr. Valentina Aleksic.
The privilege to represent the national association and respond to the main topic of the NASC village exhibition, the Leadership, as well as to promote the #CONNECT27 in October 22-23 next year on Malta, in collaboration with ESAIC, has been taken with the great support of Visit Malta and attracted the huge attention of the visitors.

The president of the #NASC National Anaesthesiologist Societies Committee and #AAIM Association of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Malta, Dr Anne Marie Camilleri Podestà, had been active throughout the scientific sessions, meetings, and the reception in the national village together with the president of ESAIC, Prof. Idit Matot.

She went through the committee discussions, and importantly, the Simulation Østergaard Declaration had been signed, reaffirming overall commitment to advancing simulation in anesthesiology education and patient safety.

The #AAIM has got the Patient Safety Ambassador, Dr. Stephanie Mifsud.

At the #ESAIC26 Congress, a new President has been elected for the upcoming term, and the #AAIM administration board wishes Prof. Basak Ceyda Meço all the best in her future work.

Seeing a friend and making new ones, besides the boosting of hands-on practice and knowledge, it was a privilege to be there.
Thank you all, the AAIM members, for your contribution and the success of the ESAIC Congress.“
