Dear Members,
As the year draws to a close, I would like to thank you for your continued support and engagement with the Association of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Malta. With our membership now at 125 members, our association continues to grow in strength, numbers, energy, and impact.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the outgoing committee members — Stephanie Mifsud, Daniel Farrugia, Petramay Attard Cortis, and Nandor Kosik — for their dedication and invaluable contribution over the past term.
2025 has been an exceptional year, with important milestones including the update of the specialist training document in line with European standards, the signing of the Helsinki Declaration on Patient Safety, a strengthened partnership with ESAIC that brought the Advanced Patient Safety Course to Malta, and the highly successful International Conference on The High-Risk Patient attended by 200 delegates.
Looking ahead, we are excited about what lies ahead. In 2026, we plan to bring back ReACT, and begin preparations for hosting the ESAIC CONNECT Meeting in Malta in 2027.
The new committee taking office in January 2026 is motivated, and very much looking forward to working together, bringing new ideas, fresh energy, and continued collaboration to further support our members and our profession:
